What are your first dance memories?
My first dance performance was really memorable. I was 15 at the time and I was part of a folk group. We danced some folk dances on the stage of the local community centre. When I was doing a spin, the shoe fell off my right foot, and someone kicked it away. I continued dancing with a shoe on one foot, and just a sock on the other. When the show finished, I got a lot of applause from the audience in spite of what had happened. At that moment I felt a great passion for dancing and I realized that I wanted to make it my profession.

SOUTHBOROUGH PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL
Experiencing the fun of performing – in a theatre with costumes, decorations and stage lights – increases our students' self-confidence and helps them to improve their skills as dancers. They learn how to behave backstage and how to work as a group to prepare a performance.
We offer several performance opportunities, including our annual concert in support of an animal shelter. This concert has become a much-loved school tradition. Performed in front of a huge audience, it's the highlight of the year and everyone looks forward to it.
