Two service posts, C and L, lie on a level plain, with L located 10 km due east of C. An autonomous survey rover is initially at J, 7 km from C on bearing 055°. Later it stops at a different point B, north of line CL. A camera at the top of a vertical 75 m mast at L measures an angle of depression of 1.1° to B. The bearing of L from B is 130°. Service vehicles at L and C can travel directly across the plain at 54 and 63 km h−1 respectively, and depart at the same instant.
