Wspólne informacje do wiązki zadań
The plane Π has equation 3x − 2y + az = b. Line L₁ passes through A=(2,−1,3) with direction (1,2,1), and is parallel to Π without lying in it. For parts 11b–11e take b=2; L₂ is the line through A with direction (2,1,−1), N is its intersection with Π, and α is its acute angle with Π.
Polecenie
(i) Show that a=1. (ii) Determine the possible real values of b.

(i) A parallel line has direction perpendicular to the plane normal: (1,2,1)·(3,−2,a)=3−4+a=0, so a=1. (ii) At A, 3·2−2(−1)+3=11. Therefore b can be any real number except 11; b=11 would put the entire parallel line in the plane.
Schemat punktowania
M1: use perpendicularity of the line direction and normal, or substitute a general line point into Π. A1: correct relation establishing a=1. M1: evaluate the plane expression at A. A1: b≠11. Alternative parametric route: M1 for attempting a general point (2+t,−1+2t,3+t); M1 for substitution giving 8+3a+(a−1)t=b; A1 for a=1 by the parallel condition (zero coefficient of t); A1 for b≠11 since the line is not contained in Π. Maximum 4.
